Some Ignoring Evacuation Orders

     NOT EVERYONE IS LEAVING. STATE POLICE SERGEANT ELIZABETH ARMIJO SAYS SOME RESIDENTS OF AREAS UNDER A MANDATORY EVACUATION ORDER DUE TO THE DOG HEAD FIRE ARE STAYING PUT. ARMIJO SAYS STATE POLICE ACTIVELY MONITOR THE ROADS. FOR THOSE WHO OBEY THE EVACUATION ORDER, NO RE-ENTRY TO THE AREA IS ALLOWED.
     ARMIJO SAYS THEY CANNOT FORCE PEOPLE TO LEAVE. OFFICERS ARE GOING DOOR TO DOOR AND LOGGING THE NAMES OF THOSE WHO STAY BEHIND, INCLUDING ALL FAMILY MEMBERS, JUST IN CASE THEIR HOME IS DESTROYED.
     THERE’S AN EVACUATION CENTER IN ESTANCIA AT THE TORRANCE COUNTY FAIRGROUNDS. THEY’LL TAKE THOSE OF YOU WITH ANIMALS AS WELL. ANOTHER EVACUATION CENTER IS IN TIJERAS AT LOS VECINOS COMMUNITY CENTER.
