Since 1970, the LGBTQ community has marked June as Pride Month—a time to celebrate what it means to be lesbian, gay, bisexual, and/or transgender and also fighting against the injustices these communities have suffered over the years. But here some facts you might not have known about the start of Pride month.

Albuquerque Silver Pride 

Monday, June 6th from 1:00pm to 5:00pm Orpheum Community Hub-500 2nd St SW, Albuquerque, New Mexico 87102 Free for all ages 

Join us for our first annual Silver Pride, 1pm on June 6th at The Orpheum Community Hub. It’s a free event. 

This is a great time to connect to our roots, our history, while providing our seniors a safe and fun space to gather and socialize during pride week! There will be performances from our current Albuquerque pride titleholders, bingo, karaoke, and a dance! Don’t miss it! 

Albuquerque Kids of Pride 

Tuesday, June 7th from 4:00pm to 8:00pm Orpheum Community Hub-500 2nd St SW, Albuquerque, New Mexico 87102 Free for all ages 

Join us for our first annual Kids of Pride, June 7th, 2022, at 4pm at The Orpheum Community Hub. 

This is a great time to spend with school-aged children to create a safe space for the children of pride to gather in a safe place and really have fun! Featuring performances from our local talented youth, music, games, Storytime, and titleholder performances. You don’t want to miss it! 

Albuquerque She+ Fest 

Wednesday June 8th from 4:00pm to 8:00pm Orpheum Community Hub-500 2nd St SW, Albuquerque, New Mexico 87102 Free for all ages 

Join us for our first annual She+Fest at 4pm on June 8th, 2022, at The Orpheum Community Hub. It’s a free event. 

This is a great time to spend with our She+ community in a safe space, really have fun by enjoying our time in-person together again! There will be a burlesque performance, music, 

comedian, games, live performances from past and current New Mexico Pride titleholders and 

Albuquerque Pride Candlelight Vigil 

Thursday, June 9th from 6:30pm to 8:30pm Morningside Park, 3901 Lead Ave SE, Albuquerque, New Mexico 87108 Free for all ages and open to the public 

Join us as we gather as one community to honor and remember our past. There will be guest speakers, a poem, a blessing, and speeches from your Albuquerque Pride Board members and titleholders. We will conclude with a candle lighting and a moment of silence before we depart to the Albuquerque Social Club for the official reception immediately following the Candlelight Vigil. Albuquerque Pre-Fest Friday Night-Free 

Friday, June 10th from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM 

Expo New Mexico, Gate 3 at San Pedro Dr NE and Copper Ave NE, Albuquerque, New Mexico Free for all ages 

Albuquerque continues 45 years of celebration for the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex, and queer community. The experience of diversity includes live music from local musicians, food and street vendors, historical archives, pride dance, and an open mic night. Celebrate LGBTQIA+ Pride and have fun with our free Pre-fest night. Gate 3 on San Pedro and Copper opens at 5pm. See you on Friday, June 10th. 

Albuquerque Pride Parade Presented by PNM 

Saturday, June 11th at 10:00 AM 

Nob Hill on Central Ave from Girard to San Pedro Dr, Albuquerque, New Mexico 

Free for all ages 

It all started with a march down Central Ave 45 years ago. We continue the celebration for the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex, and queer community. Witness Albuquerque’s inclusive diversity with parade floats, classic cars, motorcycles, horses, dancers, music, and a whole lot of fun. Join the tens of thousands in New Mexico’s 2nd largest parade.
