Hola, it’s your boy Carlos D! And guess what? One of New Mexico’s most iconic events is HERE—the 2024 New Mexico State Fair! I’m here to give you the full scoop on everything you need to know so you and the fam can plan ahead and make the most out of it.
The State Fair is more than just an event; it’s a tradition. You’ll find all the New Mexican culture you love in one place, with tasty food, thrilling rides, incredible concerts, and even a few surprises for all ages. Let’s dive in and break it all down so you know what’s happening, where to be, and when to grab those discounts. Here’s what’s going down:
Opening Day: September 5, 2024
Kicking off with a bang, Opening Day has something special for everyone. Admission is just $2, and guess what? Rides are also only $2 each! And that’s not all—food vendors across the fairgrounds will be offering one regular menu item for just $5 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.. It’s the perfect day to bring the family and sample some of the best eats New Mexico has to offer. Don’t forget it’s also Law Enforcement Day, meaning NM law enforcement officers and personnel get in for free with valid ID.
Special Discount Days
- Teacher Appreciation Weekend (September 6-8): A big shout-out to our teachers! Just flash your district-issued ID or pay stub, and you’re in for FREE.
- State Employee Appreciation Day (September 7): All New Mexico state employees get in for just $10 with valid ID or pay stub.
- Firefighter & First Responders Day (September 7): Free admission for those who keep us safe every day. Don’t forget to bring that valid ID!
Military/Veteran’s Day: September 10, 2024
This one’s close to my heart. All active and retired military and veterans get in FREE with valid ID. And for the rest of us, you can score $5 admission online only, along with $30 ride wristbands for the day.
Dollar Day: September 11, 2024
It doesn’t get much better than this—$1 admission all day! And it doesn’t stop there—$1 rides too! Heads up, though: there’s a 10-ride minimum for purchase. No ride wristbands available on this day, so stock up on those ride tickets if you’re looking to take on the Midway.
Everyone is a Kid Day: September 12, 2024
If you’re looking for a budget-friendly day to hit the Fair, $5 admission online only and $30 ride wristbands make it a steal. Plus, it’s another Graze Day, with food vendors serving up a regular menu item for just $5 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m..
City & County Employee Appreciation Weekend: September 13-15, 2024
Got a city or county job? Flash that work ID and enjoy admission for just $10 all weekend long. And if you’re there for the rides, grab yourself a $40 ride wristband to hit up the Midway in style.
More Than Just Rides and Food
There’s so much to experience beyond the rides and deep-fried goodies. We’re talking live music, rodeo events, livestock competitions, and more. It’s the kind of family-friendly fun that makes the New Mexico State Fair a can’t-miss event.
