My boyfriend asked my friend to dinner

Dear Morning Mayhem,

My boyfriend is going on a business trip to another city next week, and one of my best girl friends lives there.They\’ve met plenty of times, and after two years of dating I feel pretty secure in my relationship with my boyfriend. But he told me the other day that he\’d called my friend and asked her to go to dinner while he\’s in town.  It\’ll be the two of them . . . alone.  And my friend didn\’t mention a word of this to me. I\’m not jealous or anything, but is it weird that my boyfriend is going out to dinner with my friend alone?  Would it be even weirder if he paid for their meal?  Should I be concerned?
